Ava competed this weekend in her second Pumpkin Blast competition. She was in three events. No Test Well Balanced Free Skate, Preliminary Spins, and No Test Well Balanced Compulsories. She finished 2nd out of 5th in her program, 1st out of 4th in her compulsory and 2nd out of two in her preliminary spins. The coaches really challenged her with her preliminary spins event. She is still freshly working on back scratch spins and camel combinations. Unfortunately, she travelled quite a bit in her scratch spin at competition. That's probably what landed her in second place. Regardless, we are so proud of Ava and how far along she has come with her skating and how hard she is working to continuously improve her skills. We have one more competition at the end of November before this season ends, and then she will be retiring her Italian program and moving on to something new! She can't wait!
