Hurray For Dollywood!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to post our Dollywood vacation pictures.  I was reminded of this by none other than the boys preschool teacher!  On Thursday I was parent helper.  Mrs. Marquardt came up to me at recess and said that the boys must have had the best time on their vacation to Dollywood because they talk about it alot in the classroom.  She told me that her boys also love it.  She has two, age 12 and 11, and she recently asked them where they would like to go on Christmas break. Their answer?  Dollywood!

We absolutely loved it.  All five of us!  It was just such a gorgeous location.  Our cabin was fabulous way at the top of the mountain.  Both the amusement park and splashpark were the best ever.  The kids got to go on quite a few rides.  As guests of the Dollywood cabins, we got these ride passes where you don't have to stand in line to wait. You just enter in the next available ride time you want to go on, and then go in a separate entrance just for Dollywood pass guests.  We litererally went on some rides over and over again as soon as we would get off because the kids loved it so much.  The Raging River ride was a big hit.  Its this huge circular raft that you get on and then go down sort of white water rafting.  We got soaked and the kids just loved it!  We will certainly be going again!  What an awesome vacation and wonderful memories for our family!

This water ride was called Mountain Slidewinder.  The boys just made the height requirement.  You can barely see, but they are coming down with Daddy on the right side of the screen.  Ava and I had just gotten off a bigger roller coaster ride that she just made the height requirement for.  We all ended up going on this ALOT because we can all get on one canoe and it was SO MUCH FUN!

Evan absolutely loved this ride.  It is the kind that goes up and down real fast.  Ava, Colton and I were not fans.  It makes your stomach flip when you come down.  Evan just laughed and laughed.  I don't think daddy liked it too much either, but was forced to go on it at least 5 times with Evan. :)

We all love the old fashioned car ride.  When you drove it the radio played "Lollipop lollipop oh lolly lolly lolly lollipop!"

View from our cabin.  AMAZING!

Wow, that looks like so much fun. Is it open all year long?? We should really plan to do this together your family of 5 and our family of 4! Kyle loves the rides I hate and so does Miss Aubree!! Can you get big cabins where we all can stay in one? We should totally plan this in the next couple of summers, if you guys would like to do something like this with us.

Shana that would be amazing. The kids would absolutely love it. Yes they have huge cabins that can sleep 20 people. Most cabins also have a nice gameroom too. Ours was on the second floor and had a pool table, video game machine, hockey table, computer, dvd player, hot tub on the deck, you name it. The kids loved the cabin just as much as the parks. They are open all year round, but I think you get the most bang for your buck in summer when both parks are included in your stay package with free parking. We should check into it for summer 2013 or 2014. Visit Dollywood.com and go to her cabin site to view all the different cabin options. Our was called Over The Top and it was beautiful!!

Yes, let's plan it! Life is too short and our kids are growing too fast! I remember looking at your cabin briefly. I will check it out again in more detail! Maybe you should just plan it, since you've been there.
