As many of you know, Ava had her first competition this weekend. She had so much fun and is already talking about skating for her Christmas show. I posted videos of both of her programs below. She placed 1st in her Spotlight, but then again she was the only one competing in that event. Still, she did great and we are so proud of her! She placed 3rd in her solo program, and although she was absolutely thrilled with her trophy, the rest of us, including her coach, thought she should have at least placed second based on the other 3 skaters. I went ahead and posted that entire event so you can see for yourself. We missed recording the first few seconds of the first girl to skate, but she was the one who ended up placing second. Ava skated next and placed 3rd, and the last skater placed 1st and we thought that was well-deserved, but we certainly thought Ava was a stronger skater than the very first girl. Oh well, things aren't always fair. Anyway, it was a great time regardless and we are truly proud of Ava and so happy she is loving the sport and having so much fun!
